ICON Cares Efforts for Alzheimer's

10.16.2023

Starting in September 2023, ICON Cares (the charitable arm of our company) dedicated efforts to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association, on behalf of Terri Kleitsch.

Terri was not only a 7-year employee of ICON Injection Molding, but is wife to one of the company owners, Steve Kleitsch. Terri began declining in 2010, and her health ultimately forced her to retire from ICON in 2013. In 2015, she was diagnosed with a rare form of Alzheimer’s—Early-Onset Alzheimer’s with a Visual Variant. When Terri was originally diagnosed and had to face a grim future of a steady decline in her condition, her desire was that her circumstances could be used to further medical research and help others. For many years, she gladly served as medical case study for the doctors at the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute here in Phoenix, Arizona, undergoing additional scans and medical testing to provide data in the hopes of helping others one day. Terri is currently in hospice care for the 2nd time, going on two years now. In honor of Terri’s desire to help others suffering from this terrible disease, the ICON Cares team set the goal of raising $2,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association. Through employee-sponsored bake sales, fundraising, and participation in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Glendale, Arizona on October 14th, we are proud to announce that a total of $4,175 was raised for the Alzheimer’s Association, on behalf of Terri Kleitsch, and the ICON Cares team was named a Top Team in the 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer's.
